Jackson Newborn Session
Welcoming a new generation to the family is a celebration - full of casseroles and happy grandparents and warm congratulations. It means cuddling on the couch and learning a whole new approach to the day as everything changes to revolve around that new tiny being that fills your life with the deepest love. And when you’re surrounded by a family as big and as loving as the Jacksons, that warmth spills over - in your smile, in your voice, in the light of your eyes. Welcome to the world, little boy, and congratulations to the Jackson family!
What do you say when someone says they'd like some family and maternity photos with their husband, dogs, and mother? Oh yes! I loved the idea of including the furry family members in this session and there's something so special about capturing generations in one photo. I personally treasure the generational photos of my family from when I was a baby, and I loved Sam's eagerness to include her mom who was in town from Colorado. Congratulations Sam and Todd, and baby Zurlinden, you've got one awesome family waiting for you!
Sometimes little newborns absolutely do not want to nap during their session. I can't blame them; if I were just a few days old I'd be eager to see and soak in every bit of the world that I could! But even if she wasn't too thrilled about the napping bit, little Paige was a joy to work with. From her Wonder Woman pose with her arms curled and flexed to her captivating eyes to her incredible finger grip that stayed clenched even in sleep (as a rock climber I'm pretty jealous of that finger strength!), she was such a fun baby! And even if she needed a minute to be soothed, her four-legged family members were eager to steal the show. Welcome, Paige Burns! We're so excited to see you flex those muscles and take on the world.
I think cake smashes are my favorite :) And when you've got a charming little fella who is celebrating his first birthday with the cutest breeches and bowtie ("bowties are cool!") you know you've got a recipe for cute cute cute! Happy happy birthday Cam!!
This little ray of sunshine has been a charm to photograph from her newborn session to her six month session and now she's celebrating her first birthday with a beautiful cake smash! Her mom had this great idea for a vintage party theme for the photos, and once we started shooting it wasn't long before Stella's older brother wanted in on some of the cake smash action! (Too cute!) I am so very excited to share the images with you all now! Happy birthday, Stella!
The other day I posted photos from a recent 6 month old baby milestone session. What a fun session! I loved it so much, but I keep coming back to a few photos that I didn't share in the original post. These images didn't make the final cut but they just make me so happy with all their goofy outtakes. This is by far my best blooper reel yet, and I wanted to share with you some of the fun. Note these aren't final polished photos, but enjoy the spirit of the blooper photos! (PS Be sure to read the captions for each photo!)
My best friend's little baby is growing so fast! Little Stella is sitting and almost crawling already and I was so happy to play with her and my friend and Stella's big brother who is a bundle of energy! It was so fun taking photos of this active family and I can't wait to see how this little beauty grows!
Are you excited? Because oh gosh am I excited! One of my best friends had her second baby recently and she asked me to take newborn photos. Seriously, I was more than stoked in the days leading up to the photo session, and I am more than stoked to finally share the pictures with you!
So without further ado, I introduce to you Stella Rose!
The Izzo family is relatively new to NC and we bravely ventured to Chapel Hill on an afternoon of a football game for a holiday mini session. No tough parallel parking or mud or construction could stop this intrepid family! It was a beautiful seasonal day - colorful and cool - but the Izzos just exuded warmth the whole time. From hugging and smiling to cheering on their little one as he warmed up to the camera, this family casts a glow everywhere they go!
