I love love love how the McGinn-Sadler family is always up for a new adventure and when they said they wanted a fun option for their holiday photos I knew just the spot! The Morgan Monsters wall near Trophy Brewing is an outdoor mural by Kevin Lyons, whose work has been exhibited globally and who has created products and designs with Nike, Converse, Cotopaxi, and more. It was a great spot for this cool and hip family with their little boy who OMG IS GROWING UP SO QUICKLY!

That's the definition of an amazing family session, and the Hensleys were absolutely amazing! Jay and Anne are the nicest people you will ever meet and their little girl is a girl after my own heart: insanely smart, kinda obsessed with the Lorax ("I speak for the trees!"), and her best friend is a gorgeous dog. If this isn't the perfect use of the heart-eyes emoji I don't know what is. 😍😍😍😍
Read MorePossibly one of the best parts of doing family photography is getting to watch kids grow up. As a photographer I see the kids regularly enough to know them and during our sessions we usually have fun, do some exploring, and play. Lawson is an absolute cutie who I saw as a one-year old smashing cake, and as a real charmer in some urban family portraits and holiday card portraits. We spent a long morning today at Historic Oak View this fall exploring the park, petting the goats, and taking lots of fun photos! I can't wait to meet up with this wonderful family again for a holiday mini session - if you're thinking about taking photos for holiday cards the time to do this is now, so book soon!
Read MoreI can't even tell you how much I adore this family! The Mazzottas are amazing and with two little girls bursting with energy a session with this family is always exciting! We explored Historic Oak View where the two girls pretended to be junior biologists tracking all the wildlife and checking out the cotton field. (And let's be honest, we adults enjoyed ourselves seeing cotton up close too - it's not that often you run into a cotton field any more, but it's still cool!) Read MoreI'm interrupting the regularly scheduled post today because I'm just SO EXCITED to share these pictures today! I know Allison from my day job and I was so happy when she asked if I'd photograph her beautiful family! We made arrangements to meet up at the arboretum in Raleigh one afternoon, only to discover when we were halfway there that it was smack in the middle of the NC State Fair and just a few blocks away from the fairground. Talk about a traffic and parking nightmare! But Allison and her family were so laid back and we had a fantastic afternoon on the great lawn and running around the plants. Thank you Allison for the chance to chase your beautiful and fun family around for an afternoon!
